The classical renaissance man dabbled in a little bit of everything.  Art and science.  Painting and sculpture.  Music and writing.

A renaissance programmer, then, dabbles in all areas of IT.  I think that applies to most programmers to some extent, and I am no exception.  In addition to my B.S. in Computer Science, I am A+ and Network+ certified.  While I'm currently employed as a programmer, I also worked for a time as a network administrator.  I'm more comfortable in Windows, but I'm a fan of Linux, and have both installed at home.  I'm not yet a master in all the areas I'd like to be, but I'm still young.

What can you expect to find here? I have a couple goals for this space.  I want the public view to be primarily a professional journal.  Hopefully the quality of the writing will be fairly high, though I sometimes don't edit as well as I should.  I'll post links to interesting tech articles, as well as my own thoughts on the industry-- maybe even the occasional less-technical piece.  It should be interesting even if you don't know me personally.  Then again, it'll more likely be completely boring and dry, but hey:  it's my blog and I can do what I want with it.

I want to avoid letting meaningless memes or posts about my cat appear on the public view (note that when I first wrote this, I didn't have a cat).  However, I don't want to cut that stuff out entirely.  If you're a vox member and get in my friends or family groups I expect you will find a few more personal items that aren't available to the general public.
